“My parents met at a jazz club in Stockholm. The legendary Nalen.
My dad was the cool guy behind the drums, and mamma was the uptown blond in the audience. A most controversial combination in those days. Nevertheless, one thing led to another, and voila! God bless their child.”

5 hours and 23 minutes of jazz diva Caroline Henderson
Joie de vivre, passion and an uncompromising attitude were always the driving forces behind Caroline Hendersons career, making her one of the most interesting and sought after singers of our time – a true diva of jazz.
…
On 24 October 2011 Caroline Henderson releases Jazz Collection including all her critically acclaimed jazz albums, an exclusive concert recording on DVD, and the eight new songs that make up the album ‘Jazz, Love and Henderson’. A total of five hours and 23 minutes, that will send shivers down your spine – again.
Eight new songs on ‘Jazz, Love & Henderson’
Even though Caroline Henderson was practically born in a jazz club it wasn’t until she turned 40 that she really devoted herself to her love of jazz. Since her jazz debut ‘Don’t Explain’ from 2003 she has released five albums and performed more than 400 concerts all over the world.
With the box set ‘Jazz Collection’ Caroline Henderson looks back on her life, not just by compiling the previous jazz albums, but in the eight new songs that she wrote for the theater concert ‘Jazz, Love and Henderson’. The theater concert, starring Caroline Henderson herself, will open on 20. January 2012 on Østre Gasværk Theater.
The release of ‘Jazz, Love & Henderson’ marks another turning point for Caroline Henderson; it’s the first time in years that she releases an album of freshly composed songs.
“I am especially thrilled to present the sixth CD in the box, my own songs in cinematic orchestra style with grandiose arrangements by the legendary Butch Lacy. Film music painted with the biggest of brushstrokes moves me. It tickles the senses and stimulates the inner movie. ‘Jazz, Love & Henderson’ is a personal soundtrack, a journey through time, where the Eiffel Tower is in the middle of Copenhagen, and jazz is a state of mind.”
Caroline Henderson
The honest and intensely personal songs depict Caroline’s tumultuous life, from Stockholm to New York, Paris to Copenhagen – from girl to woman – from emigrant to immigrant. With a sure sense of sophistication, of luxurious arrangements and a grand unique sound Caroline Henderson has created an album, where she puts her own story on the line with nerve, presence and intuitive energy.
